Font Smoothing on Remote Desktops

Generally, when accessing a Windows desktop remotely using a browser-based RDP client, the font in web browsers and desktop applications can appear fuzzy, blurry or otherwise distorted.

While there may be remedies that can be applied at the client side, or even the intermediate application server, a better option is to start at the target desktop.

In Windows 10 / 11, search for "Clear Type" and enable the feature. Then step through the sample texts to "tune" the chosen screens which provide the best clarity for the end user. Note that these profiles are unique to each desktop profile, making it an ideal solution for users that share a common remote desktop (such as a remote server).
